Weekly review and preview Week 3

Dear Parents,

A very busy week. We have been learning about the sound the letters ch make when put together. We have also been looking at the words long and short.

We also went on a nature walk looking for items that are natural or man made. We also explored items in the classroom and tried using the words hard and soft to describe them.

On Saturday 12th May 9am - 1pm will be Ascot International 2nd annual Family Fun Day, a half day charity fair for families and children of all ages! This event is open to the public and features carnival-style games and activities along with food and refreshments. I will be running a stall and if you are free it would be lovely to see you.

Ascot International School		KS Weekly Update: Week 3 2018 Summer Term
	This week		Next week
English	We looked at the sound the letters ch makes when put together. We looked at words that contain the ch sound such as chicken, cheese, chocolate, chair and match.		We will be looking at the sound the letters sh make.
Maths	We have been practicing counting to 16 and using the words long and short to describe objects.		We will be looking at the idea of 1 more and 1 less.
Inquiry	We went on a walk looking for items in school that were natural and man-made. We also looked at the words hard and soft to describe objects.		We will be looking at the properties of materials. We will explore waterproof and absorbent, strong and weak.
Notices and events WB: 7th May	Saturday 12th May: Family Fun Day 9 am – 1pm. Our annual Family Fun Day, a half-day charity fair. It features carnival-style games and activities along with food & refreshments.
